Honey B was with me for 18 years and 10 months. I was 11 years old when I first met my best friend. As a himalayan, Honey was very much a one person cat. I could carry her around for hours, wear her around my neck, and cuddle her as long as I liked. Other´s were not so lucky when it came to asking for her affection.
She was a very talented little girl. Her soccer skills would rival those of David Beckham and her howling of ´hello´ was louder than any dog. She loved to sun-tan, sleep, run around the house as fast as she could, and of course, cuddle.
Many friends would often say, "I hate cats, but there is something different about Honey. She is the exception. I love her!".
She too was an amazing judge of character. If she felt odd about someone, they knew it...funny enough, they were the people who did not stay in my life for long. When my fiance and I first started dating, Honey, who did not jump up on anyone other than myself or my mom, jumped right up into his lap and fell asleep. Needless to say, he passed the Honey B test and we will be married later this year.
Honey´s life came to an end Sunday April 3rd, 2011. I held her as she was put down after suffering from kidney failure and other ailments. She is missed more than words can say and our house feels empty in her absence. We had a bond like no other and there is a huge hole in my heart now that she has gone. I wish words could express how amazing this wee cat was and how much I love her...but there are no words and not nearly enough time to express them! :)
Now I dream about my girl waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge with my Mom´s cat, DJ, waiting until we are reunited again. Until that day, I will say goodnight every night, think about her daily, and I hope you Rest in Peace little one. I love you Honey B....thank you for the many years of love, friendships, support, and fun. You will never be forgotten. xoxoxxox
"Sugar, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-da, ohhh, Honey, Honey, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-da, you are my candy girl...and you got me lovin you!"
